    What makes it fun

Le PasSage is an adventure for your taste buds. The restaurant's design is sleek luxe meets secret train-car romance with rich woods, jewel tones, and curved ceilings that make it feel like you’re journeying through somewhere faraway, even though you’re just steps from the city. The menu blends Asian flavors from Vietnam, China, Thailand, and Cambodia with classic French technique. From a whole ginger-scallion lobster built for two to delicate desserts that feel made for lingering, every course is an excuse to lean in. Le PasSage isn’t just a date, it’s a first-class passage to romance.

Brunch review. The location is still very much in the early learning phase. Food, as many reviews mark, is extremely hit and miss. Croissants and pancakes were fantastic and standouts. The steak and eggs were a huge miss, both undercooked after refire and barely seasoned. Service was friendly but absent. You cannot go here with any need to be timely. Hard to tell if they're understaffed or undertrained. Overall it's a beautiful location, both inside and out. Despite it's proximity to the roads, it feels secluded on the patio. For parking, they do not validate for the valet, but they do offer some validation for the garage.

I felt a slight level of anxiety as we made the reservation for LePasSage. I regulated my expectations because the reviews are mixed and the price point is $$$. So let’s transition to our actual experience. As we were escorted through the main dining room to our table on the patio overlooking the Katy Trail, the atmosphere felt intimate and stylish. If the lighting was about 10% brighter, I think I would have been able to appreciate the visual details better. Our server, Tiffany, made us feel welcomed and took great care of us over the entire duration of the evening. The food was excellent. As I took my first bites of the Yellowtail Crudo, any feelings of anxiety I had about being disappointed with the food quickly dissipated. The flavors combined with the crunchy texture tasted great. The fried spring rolls kept things going (and the lettuce and mint were the right size and freshness). Our entrees and dessert were excellent. The Shaken Beef needed a very slight pinch of salt, but I chalk that up to my taste preference. The dish needed a few minutes for the flavors to amalgamate so it tasted better with each bite. The broccoli and fried rice complemented the beef perfectly. We finished the meal with the Mango Pudding and Doughnut. The presentation was underwhelming and initially off-putting in the case of the doughnut. In the darkness of the room it looked like a lump of coal. Despite this, however, both desserts had enough flavor and sweetness to deliver a nice finish to the meal. With expectations met, we walked home from Le PasSage feeling very happy and satisfied! Epilogue: The restaurant charges a 3% credit card transaction fee. It made me feel like I was nickeled and dimed.

First time at LePasSage. Great views looking over the Katy Trail. Incentive cocktails. Loved the Paper Crane. Pullman platter appetizer was great way to try several items. All were delicious. Also had the Chinese spare ribs. So good. Sorry pic didn’t turn out. Lobster ravioli special also outstanding. Favorite item was the whole fried snapper. Especially the sauce that we drizzled over the moist pieces of fish. The presentation was amazing. Have never seen the fish prepared to make it so easy to get the fish. We splurged and shared the smoky tea donut for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back.
