    What makes it fun

For a date spot where history and heart get cozy together, head to City Park. Imagine you and your sweetheart meandering through 22 acres of leafy gardens, shaded paths, and pretty picnic spots in a park that’s been around since 1876 (it was Dallas’s first official city park). Wander hand-in-hand among charming 19th-century buildings including a rustic saloon, a vintage general store, and a cozy old schoolhouse. Whether you explore history together, picnic under old-oak shadows, or stroll peaceful paths just the two of you, City Park gives you a date that feels like a walk back in time, but with all the right sparks for right now.

I've been celebrating anniversaries here for 20 years!!! The place has definitely changed but the magical feeling is still there.

What an amazing place. So beautyfull. You really get a sence of what it was like in the 1800s. Some buildings really need restoration. I so hope they will get the chance to do this couse it would be a big loss of history. As a tourist from europe this is exactly the kind of place i like to see.

We visited City Park in Dallas today, and honestly what a wonderful surprise! This place feels like stepping into a little piece of Texas history. There’s a cowboy town vibe that’s both nostalgic and unique, making it stand out from the usual parks around the city.
It’s definitely one of those rare spots in Dallas where you can slow down, take in the atmosphere, and just enjoy the simple charm of the Old West. Whether you're into local history, want a scenic place for a walk, or just looking for something different to do, City Park is a solid choice.
We had a great time exploring, snapping some photos, and soaking in the peaceful vibe. If you're in Dallas and haven’t been yet go check it out! You won’t regret it.

This historic park was a wonderful place to visit. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and they clearly care about keeping the park well-maintained. Everything was clean and easy to enjoy, which made the experience even better. I really appreciated the atmosphere and the sense of history throughout the grounds. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that I felt there could have been a bit more information or interactive displays to enhance the experience. Overall, though, it’s a great spot to explore and definitely worth a visit!

This place was a lot of fun. It's free to enter, free parking on site. We were able to just wander through pieces of history. I thought it was really cool that each of the houses on the grounds had placards of when they were built, and where they brought from. Unique way to spend about 90 minutes
