Very peaceful trail. I try to go here as often as possible to give myself a peace of mind. Everyone is friendly. There is an occasional snake so be careful! Other than that it's a really nice trial.

Was a beautiful and well maintained Trailway. Looks busy but lots of trails to walk without bumping into each other. FYI there is a lot of ascending and descending so be prepared. My trekking poles definitely save my knees on this trip!

Cedar Ridge Preserve is one of the best trails in Dallas for real elevation and a solid hike. The trails are well-kept, with a mix of shaded woods and open views, plus some steep climbs that make it feel like a real workout. Beautiful scenery, wildflowers, and great lookout points over the hills and lake. If you plan to go on the weekend go early because parking fills up fast. Definitely one of my favorite spots for hiking!

Cedar Ridge has definitely become a favorite hiking spot of mine even though I live 45 minutes away. If you are looking for beautiful covered trails and hiking for all ages this is it! There are some trails which are challenging with elevation gain and others that are nice and easy. One huge plus is they have water coolers throughout the park and air conditioned bathrooms at the entrance. Just know they are usually pretty busy, especially on holidays and the weekends.

Despite the Texas heat, the interior of the preserve remains surprisingly moderate in temperature, even when it’s over 90 degrees outside. This makes it possible to enjoy a summer hike without the discomfort of extreme heat, thanks in part to the shaded areas and natural canopy of trees. Adding to its charm, Cedar Ridge Preserve includes a lake that enhances the area’s serenity and provides a peaceful spot to rest and reflect. The trails’ elevation changes—ups and downs that challenge without overwhelming—add just the right amount of difficulty to keep hikers engaged. Overall, Cedar Ridge Preserve is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to reconnect with the outdoors in a beautiful, well-maintained setting.
